The Haysville Senior Center is available to any area resident age 55 or over.  The Red Cross Good Neighbor Nutrition Program (GNNP) provides noon meals for those who can attend the center, and volunteers also deliver meals to those who are home bound.  

 

The New Senior Center

 

The new center is constructed and is located east of Main on Karla behind Main Street Place.

 

Hours of Operation

 

The Senior Center is open at 160 E. Karla from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.

 

Haysville Senior Center Dedication Bricks

 

Each brick costs $25 and proceeds will be used to purchase furnishings for the new Senior Center. The bricks will be placed in the Dedication Garden of the Senior Center. Download a form to personalize your brick.

Programs

 

Members of the Center play cards, work on puzzles, visit and share experiences with others in the community.  The Center provides exercise programs, craft classes, information on services available to seniors, as well as just a friendly, comfortable place to meet with friends.

 

Good Neighbor Nutrition Program

 

The Red Cross provides meals through the Good Neighbor Nutrition Program and the Center currently serves around 35 people who eat at the Senior Center.  There are another 30 or so individuals  who are home bound and are delivered meals by volunteers.

 

Commodities

 

Commodities are distributed monthly to those who meet income guidelines.

 

 

FREE Smoke Detectors for Seniors
Sedgwick County Department on Aging / Central Plains Area Agency on Aging Minor Home Repair program was awarded the Kansas Injury and Fire Prevention Program grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The grant will allow for 10 year lithium battery operated smoke alarms, and hard wired hearing impaired alarms. We have partnered with the Haysville Senior Center, and volunteers to educated seniors of potential fire hazards in their homes and to provide them with adequate smoke alarm coverage.

  • Must be 65 years of age and older

  • Reside in Haysville

  • A homeowner or live with homeowner
