
The
Haysville City Council establishes policy direction for the City by
enacting ordinances, laws, policies, adopting the budget, levying taxes,
and appointing members to boards and commissions.
Meetings
The
Haysville City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers at City Hall, 200 W. Grand. Meetings
are broadcast live on Cable Channel 7 and are rebroadcast at various

Elections
General:
The
eight-member
Council is
elected to
four-year
terms on a
nonpartisan
basis with
staggered
terms of
office. The
council
members are
elected by
ward and the
Mayor is
elected
at-large.
Terms are
staggered so
four council
members, one
from each
ward, are
elected every
two years. The
Mayor is
elected by all
voters in the
City every
four years.

wards are designated as follows:

Ward
I encompasses the quadrant of the City of Haysville that is north of the
center of Grand Avenue (71st Street South) extending north to the city
limits and west of the center of North Main Street (Seneca), extending
to the western edge of the city limits.
Ward
II
Ward
II encompasses the quadrant of the City of Haysville that is north of
the center of Grand Avenue extending north to the northernmost city
limits and east of the center of North Main Street to the eastern edge
of the city limits.

III
Ward
III encompasses the quadrant of the City of Haysville that is south of
the center of Grand Avenue extending to the southernmost city limits and
east of the center of German Avenue to the easternmost edge of the city
limits.

IV
Ward
IV encompasses the quadrant of the City of Haysville that is south of
the center of Grand Avenue extending south to the south edge of the city
limits and west of the center of German Avenue to the westernmost edge
of the city limits.
To be eligible
to hold
office, the
candidate must
live in the
ward for which
the resident
seeks office,
and must be a
registered
voter.
Candidates for
Mayor must
live within
the Haysville
city limits
and be a
registered
voter.
Voting Places:

register to
vote at City
Hall or the
Sedgwick
County
Election
Office.
